This article, referring to theoretical texts and related to land use factors and the physical growth of cities, examines the necessity of the formation of cities against the events caused by infectious diseases and the way of establishing urban buildings, places and residential neighborhoods, the way communication facilities, public and infrastructure services and urban contexts in relation to their compliance with the principles of environmental health against the occurrence of unexpected outbreaks of infectious diseases in Iranian cities is the focus of this article.
