This study aims to adapt urban spaces and create a physical environment that supports the rights of people with disabilities, veterans, and the elderly. It focuses on identifying and addressing the challenges of pedestrian pathways in order to make them accessible for individuals with physical–motor impairments and aligned with their needs.The research is applied in nature and follows a descriptive–survey methodology. Data collection was conducted using a researcher-made standardized questionnaire based on the Likert scale. To ensure reliability, Cronbach’s alpha was used, and validity was assessed through face and content validity. The sample size was determined using the Morgan table.For data analysis, both descriptive and inferential statistical tests were employed, including the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test and Friedman test, using SPSS software. The results revealed that, from the perspective of individuals with disabilities, the most critical pathways requiring adaptation are:Saadi Street (North to South)Boulevard to Enghelab Crossroad
Furthermore, the comparison of mean ranks indicated that “sidewalks and pedestrian paths” and “medical centers” hold the highest priority for accessibility improvements. All variables included in the questionnaire were ranked according to their importance.Overall, the study emphasizes the need to observe special regulations for people with disabilities in urban planning, to develop prioritized and scheduled programs within comprehensive, guiding, and detailed development plans, and to ensure precise and effective supervision of public facility construction projects. These measures are essential for implementing urban environmental adaptations for people with disabilities, veterans, the elderly, and accident victims.
